Mike Besser

Michael Besser is a Sophomore Government and Politics and History Double Major. He has been involved in UMD College Dems since coming to the University and is currently proud to be the Vice President. Michael aims to do his part to make College Democrats  the most influential and exciting activist group on campus. In addition to politics, Michael is a dedicated Boston sports fan and news junkie. Joshua Gillerman is a Sophomore Government and Politics Major, Public Leadership Scholar, and a member of the Beyond the Classroom Program which is a program devoted toward civic engagement. Gillerman currently serves as the College Democrat's Campus Liaison and is also a member of Sketchup, the University of Maryland's Official Sketch Comedy group. Josh is a proud Democrat and proud to be pro-choice and devoted to helping the city of Washington, DC gain representation, among other projects. John is a Sophomore Government and Politics and Marketing double major in the Honors Program. He participates in the QUEST and Rawlings Undergraduate Leadership programs, and is a die-hard Orioles and Ravens fan. Cait is a Senior majoring in Government and Politics.  Cait has been a member  of
the College Democrats for the past year.  She has been an active member of the
Democratic Party since 2004, interning for various campaigns and elected officials.
Cait is a self proclaimed NPR junkie and enjoys watching Maryland Basketball,
running, and traveling the road less traveled.  She is a Democrat because she
believes the Democratic Party is the party that's ultimate goal is to improve or

Emily is a Senior English major.  She is excited about being the new Publications Secretary to make the 2007/2008 College Dems the greatest activist group on campus.  Outside of College Dems, Emily is a member of the SEE Review Board and Club Lacrosse Team.  She is a moderate and hopes bring in many new faces because young activists are the future of politics.
